GREENAPPLES MISSION
Our mission is to develop programs that will allow our employees and customers to work together toward building a more sustainable environment for our local community. Our first initiative was the Treecycle program.

In 2009 & 2010, Native Sun was honored as one of Jacksonville Magazine's "Top 25 Companies That Care" for our dedication to giving back to the local community. We couldn't have done it without you!

charity of the month PROGRAM

One in three Floridians is impacted by one or more of the over 100 types of arthritis. The one nearest to our hearts is Juvenile Arthritis, a disease we know all to well as it affects Willa Ambrosius, the daughter our Baymeadows Store General Manager.

wife Jessica & their daughter Willa

We chose the Arthritis Foundation of Florida as our September GreenApples Charity of Month in her honor and hope to both raise funds for children’s programs and remind people that Kids Get Arthritis Too!

The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is Research, Public Health and Public Policy. Their work has improved thousands of lives through programs, services, information & referral, as well as professional and patient education. They’ve also funded and sponsored research for over 50 years resulting in major treatment advances for many forms of arthritis.

The Florida Chapter receives no government funding and relies solely upon voluntary contributions from the public. Thank you for your support!

TREECYCLE REUSABLE BAG PROGRAM

Here's how it works . . . .

1. Every time you purchase a Native Sun Treecycle reusable grocery bag, we will donate 5¢ to Greenscape of Jacksonville, a local nonprofit organization planting trees in our community.

2. Every time you use your Treecycle bag or ANY reusable grocery bag in-store, you will earn 5¢ per bag off your total purchase OR the chance to donate your 5¢ discount to Greenscape of Jacksonville. It’s your choice! How would you like to use your refund?

charity of the month program

Each month, Native Sun's GreenApples program selects a local charity in need and helps to raise awareness and collect funds through employee and customer programs.

If you know of a Jacksonville charity that you would like Native Sun's GreenApples program to support, send an email to greenapples@nativesunjax.com telling us why.

Please remember, that only 12 charities can be selected each year. If we are not able to accomodate your needs this year, hopefully we can work together in the next!

A GREENER GROCERY - OUR PROMISE TO YOU

Native Sun is always looking for ways to make your shopping experience “greener,” whether it’s switching to juice cups made from biodegradable non-GMO corn or stocking only biodegradable produce bags in our 100% organic produce department.
